FAQs

Sunthin Knowledge Base includes a wide range of frequently asked questions about our lighting products and applications.

For those who spend lots of time indoors, installing LED lights that mimic natural light may be a top priority.
The color temperature of natural light can be difficult to pinpoint as it can range from 4000K to 6500K or higher, depending on the time of day, weather, latitude and season.
If you're after the warmer feel of natural sunshine (as opposed to daylight), 4000K may be a great option for you. 4000K can be described as early-morning or late-afternoon sunshine that comes in through a south-facing window.
5000K and higher color temperatures are also close approximations of natural light, but they are more aligned with natural daylight, rather than natural sunlight. Think of a more neutral, white light coming in from a north-facing window on an overcast day.

Daylight would be the clear, bluish light coming in through a north facing window. No direct sunshine coming in, just the light from the crisp, blue sky.
Sunlight, on the other hand, has a warmer, yellower quality to it -  imagine the soft, early morning sun rays streaming in through your windows.
Some of our customers prefer the warmer "sunshine" look of our lights (4000K/5000K) while others prefer a crisper, whiter "daylight" look (6500K). Unless you are working in an industrial or color-critical environment, this decision is completely up to you and a matter of personal preference!

A non-dimmable LED should not be connected to dimmable system. If this does occur lighting performance will be impacted. LEDs may blink, flicker or otherwise not work as intended.

LED strip light brightness is dependent upon density of the LEDs on the strip. Our led strip light 120 LEDs/m is the brightest LED tape light product we offer, delivering a super bright output designed for task lighting. 60 LEDs/m is bright enough for a broad range of undercabinet and accent lighting. 30 LEDs/m is less bright and best for accent lighting applications. All Our LED light strips are fully dimmable from 100% – 0%.

Although strip light is thin and flexible, do not bend strip lights or make sharp turns. The preferred method to make turns is to use connectors. Alternatively, use connectors with wire or solder wire directly to the copper LED strip light’s copper pads.

A non-dimmable LED should not be connected to dimmable system. If this does occur lighting performance will be impacted. LEDs may blink, flicker or otherwise not work as intended.

To jump the obstacle, use a connect a length of wire to the two strips of tape light. This can be done with a connector and an appropriate length of wire or a connector can be extended to connect two LED strips.
