Choosing a landscape spotlight kit starts with the features you want to illuminate, not just the size of your yard. Use this checklist to compare Pack Sizes, plan the cable route and choose warm white or RGBW lighting before ordering.
1. Count lighting positions before choosing a Pack Size
SUNTHIN landscape spotlight listings offer 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 16 Pack options. Pack Size describes the number of lights in the kit; it does not specify a guaranteed coverage area.
- List the trees, planting beds, walls or other features you want to highlight.
- Mark each proposed spotlight position on a simple sketch. A wide feature may need light from more than one angle.
- Count those positions, then compare the available kits. For example, six planned positions call for comparing a 6 Pack kit with your layout, rather than selecting a kit by lawn area alone.
- Check the exact kit contents and cable reach before buying. A larger Pack does not automatically mean that every spacing arrangement will work.
2. Measure the cable route, including the first light
Measure from the planned power location to the first spotlight, then along the route between the remaining lights. Follow the intended route around planting areas instead of measuring only the straight-line distance. Compare these measurements with the selected kit and its supplied instructions.
Do not assume that two kits can be joined to one power adapter, or that an extension cable is compatible just because its connector looks similar. Before adding lights or accessories, ask SUNTHIN to confirm compatibility for your exact kit and power equipment. The number of lights supplied in a Pack is not a statement of its maximum expansion capacity.
3. Choose warm white or color changing light
Choose warm white when you want a consistent light color for everyday garden and tree lighting. Choose RGBW when you want both white-light and color options. Compare the current warm white landscape spotlights with dusk-to-dawn control and RGBW color changing landscape spotlights. For a broader comparison, read warm white vs. RGBW landscape lighting.
4. Understand dusk-to-dawn control
A dusk-to-dawn light sensor responds to ambient daylight; it is not a motion detector. Current SUNTHIN RGBW kits include sensor control across the available Pack Sizes. Follow the instructions supplied with your controller when selecting automatic operation, timer or other settings.
Position the sensor according to those instructions and avoid aiming a spotlight directly at it. Check operation after dark. If the result is not what you expect, confirm the selected mode and whether nearby lighting is reaching the sensor before assuming that a lamp has failed.
5. Check installation and delivery before ordering
- Review the selected kit instructions for mounting, connections and power equipment. Plan the layout before fixing lights in place.
- Check the product page for current price, stock and included components. Do not use photos of a different Pack as a packing list.
- For Canadian delivery, eligibility is limited to the designated standard warm white and RGBW 4, 6, 8 and 10 Pack variants. The separate sensor warm white series and 12/16 Pack variants are excluded. Confirm the selected variant and shipping address at checkout.
